MEET RAKER

I'm Steve Rakes, and first, I sincerely want to thank you for considering booking your hunt of a lifetime with me and putting your trust here.  I promise I’ll do everything possible to put you in the right place, at the right time, with the right outfitter.

I was raised hunting in Michigan.  I have many fond memories chasing whitetail, small game, and fishing the Manistee with my dad, family, and friends.  My career moved me to Washington State in 1992 and that really opened my eyes to the opportunities of hunting big game in the NW.

I’ve been lucky and successfully taken 27 of the North American 29.  My passion is mountain game and bears.  I’ve taken 7 Mountain Goats during the winter months, 3 Sheep, and multiple bears….3 of them Boone and Crockett….a black, grizzly, and brown.  My Brown Bear is currently #82 Boone and Crockett all-time list, scoring 29 3/16” B&C, and #18 Safari Club International, scoring 29 9/16”.

My goal is to help you with your hunting goals.  I know what a thrill and sense of accomplishment it is when all of your preparation, sweat, research, practice, and hard work comes together.  I’ve completed extensive homework in search of the best guides, outfitters, and areas.  I’ve personally hunted in the areas and with the outfitters I represent and recommend.  They are the best of the best and all great guys to share a camp with.

I’ve negotiated and secured prime time dates to help insure every opportunity for your success.  There are always variables out of one’s control, but the best trophy areas, guides, timelines, moon phases, etc., are within our control.  Why not stack the controllable odds in your favor?  Your time and money are extremely valuable and I realize this!  Why not take advantage of my experience, success, and miscues.  I can help guide you to the proper guides with no doubt and concerns.
